Medical Expense Deduction
The special tax break for senior citizens will expire after 2016. Beginning with the 2017 tax year, no deduction will be allowed if you don’t clear the 10%-of-AGI hurdle – no matter how old you are. Seniors are advised to pay as many expenses as possible in the 2016 year while the 7.5% of AGI is still available.
